I decided to organise a "Campervan" Easter break for myself and some friends. From the first phone call to the return of our trip I was completely satisfied with service received. It was great to speak to someone friendly and helpful. The van was fully prepared for our trip and even though the van wasn't a brand new van it was excellent value and didn't skip a beat. I'd recommend Calypso to all and can't wait for our next Easter break!

My wife and I hired a Deluxe 3/4 Berth Calypso Campervan in Nov '06. Overall we we were happy with the Van and the service we received. Pro's - The van came very well equipped with everything from can openers to a 240V heater (which unfortunately we had to use due to cold weather). The awning worked well. No extra charges for awnings etc. As we were just with the two of us, the extra bed on the top worked excellent for storage of clothes etc. Con's - The van was slightly underpowered for some of the highways and hills, (2.0 litre mazda automatic), and it required Premium fuel and didn't have very good mileage. The outdoor chairs were more like footstools.. we ended up buying $10 chairs at the BigW. The only other con, (which we knew before we left) is the Van cannot leave any sealed (paved) roads... many of the National parks are gravel roads thus we were unable to visit them. If you plan on visiting national parks you may ask for permission ahead of time and they may make a exception. Otherwise we enjoyed our trip very much and would recommend Calypso to anyone. On our trip we saw many Wicked Campers... (which was our other option). We were glad to have Calypso as we were able to stand fully upright inside, and our van was much newer and more reliable then some of the Wicked Campers we saw. Also some of saying painted on the back of each wicked campers were offensive in my opinion.
