Yes. International drivers can drive a Calypso Campervan with a valid full driver’s licence issued in their country of origin. If your licence is not in English, you should also carry an English translation or an International Driving Permit. You’ll need to present your valid licence or permit when collecting your campervan.
All Calypso Campervans include Basic Protection with a $2,000 insurance excess. You can reduce your excess with one of the optional protection packages:
- Protection Plus – $15 per day: reduces the excess to $1,000, capped at $450 for a 30-day rental.
- Maximum Protection Package – $20 per day: reduces the excess to $400 and includes cover for one front windscreen and two tyres, capped at $600 for a 30-day rental.
Please note that certain circumstances, including single-vehicle accidents and animal collisions, carry a separate $3,000 excess that cannot be removed.
Yes. Extra drivers can be added at no additional charge, provided they are nominated by the customer, approved by Calypso Campervans and meet the driver requirements. All drivers must hold a valid licence and be at least 21 years old.
The minimum age to drive a Calypso Campervan is 21 years old. No driver under 21 is permitted to drive the vehicle. Drivers over 90 years old must also provide a recent doctor’s certificate confirming their ability to drive.
Yes. Unlimited kilometres are included, so you can enjoy your Australian road trip without worrying about a daily kilometre allowance. Calypso also includes toll road fees, giving you more freedom to choose your route without additional toll charges.
Please note that tolls being included does not cover traffic fines, penalties or other charges resulting from road-rule infringements.
